Claude Opus 4.5 now available in Vercel AI Gateway

Claude Opus 4.5 is now available through Vercel's AI Gateway, with no separate Anthropic account required. Vercel says the model brings improvements in general intelligence and vision over previous versions and is suited to demanding reasoning and complex problem solving, including difficult coding tasks and agentic workflows involving computer use and tool use, and handling context and external memory files. Frontend coding and design remain strengths, particularly for building real-world web applications.
To use it, developers set the model to anthropic/claude-opus-4.5 in the AI SDK. The release also adds a new effort parameter for the model, which controls token usage across all token types when responding to a request. It defaults to high, is set independently of the thinking budget, and is configured through providerOptions in the AI SDK.
