Builds now start up to 30% faster

By Steven Van ·

A parallel worker pool for cache downloads cuts build init time 30% and up to 7 seconds off builds on every plan.

Vercel now downloads the build cache in parallel using a worker pool, rather than sequentially. That cuts build initialization time by an average of 30%, shaving up to seven seconds off build times. It's enabled automatically for all new builds, on every plan, and builds on earlier build initialization improvements Vercel had already shipped.

No configuration is needed: the change applies automatically to builds that restore a cache from a previous build. Read the full announcement for more on how build caching works.
