Amazon OpenSearch Serverless is now available in the Vercel Marketplace, with guided setup and automatic project configuration built into the Vercel dashboard.
- OpenSearch collections can be provisioned directly from the Vercel dashboard.
- Environment variables are injected into projects automatically on provisioning.
- Search resources appear alongside the rest of a project's infrastructure in the Marketplace resource view, with quick links to AWS for deeper configuration.
The integration runs on a new generation of Amazon OpenSearch Serverless APIs, built with Vercel as a design partner. It supports vector, lexical, hybrid, and agentic search in a single collection, autoscales up to 20x faster for bursty workloads, and scales to zero with no idle cost, which AWS says can bring savings of up to 60% compared to paying for peak capacity.
