Agents can now buy domains with the Vercel CLI

By Steven Van ·

Users must approve the price, auto-renew choice and registrant contact details in an interactive terminal or the dashboard.

Domain discovery, pricing checks and purchase initiation can now run through an agent using the Vercel CLI, with human approval required to complete the transaction.

From search to purchase

The agent finds candidates with vercel domains search, checks availability with vercel domains check, retrieves registrar pricing with vercel domains price, and initiates a purchase with vercel domains buy. Search supports filters for available domains and specific top-level domains, plus structured JSON output.

The CLI includes an agent-facing skill covering discovery, pricing and purchasing, so agents can follow the sequence without being given each step.

Confirmation stays with the user

When run non-interactively, vercel domains buy returns a structured, machine-readable error with suggested next commands, handing confirmation back to the user. The price, auto-renew choice and registrant contact details can be confirmed in an interactive terminal or the dashboard.

The domain command documentation covers the search, availability, pricing and purchase commands.
