2026 Vercel AI Accelerator recap

By Steven Van ·

Vercel's 2026 AI Accelerator ended with 39 teams pitching at Demo Day, $8M in credits given out, and three teams taking home prizes.

Vercel's 2026 AI Accelerator wrapped on April 16th, when 39 teams pitched investors and AI leaders at Demo Day. Over the prior six weeks the cohort built agents, developer tools, consumer apps, and vertical AI for finance, security, healthcare, and robotics, working alongside the Vercel team and partners.

Each week paired a hands-on technical workshop with a fireside chat; speakers included Peter Steinberger (OpenAI/OpenClaw) and the Windsurf team. Midway through, the cohort joined the broader Vercel startup ecosystem for Builder Day at Vercel's San Francisco office, with office hours from AWS and Anthropic engineers and a fireside chat between Vercel CTO Malte Ubl and Paper CEO Stephen Haney. Every team received over $200K in credits across Vercel's AI stack (AI Gateway, Sandbox, Workflows, Fluid Compute, v0) and partners including AWS, Anthropic, OpenAI, Browserbase, ElevenLabs, Auth0, WorkOS, Notion, Modal, Neon, and Supabase, totaling $8M across the cohort.

Auth0 hosted Demo Day, where judges scored teams on problem validity, technology fit, product quality, and pitch. Three teams took home $100K+ in credits and prizes:

  • Rex (1st): AI for the enterprise finance back office, founded by Merlin Kafka and Lewis Blackwood. Rex also received an investment from Vercel Ventures.
  • Hacktron AI (2nd): an AI teammate for security that finds and remediates exploitable vulnerabilities, founded by Zayne Zhang, Mohan Pedhapati, and Harsh Jaiswal.
  • Roots (3rd): a platform for buying and selling homes, founded by Lauren Self and David Golovin.

The 40 alumni from the 2025 cohort have raised over $100M in venture funding since, with several accepted to Y Combinator. Applications for the next AI Accelerator cohort open later this year.
