Adobe Completes Acquisition of Topaz Labs

By Steven Van ·

Topaz Labs stays a standalone brand under Adobe, which plans to add its enhancement models to more Creative Cloud tools.

Adobe has completed its acquisition of Topaz Labs. Topaz will continue as a standalone brand, with its apps, models, and customer support unchanged, while Adobe brings Topaz's image and video enhancement capabilities into more Creative Cloud workflows, building on existing integrations in Firefly and Photoshop.

Topaz's technology, including its Neurostream processing for local or cloud-based AI models, is aimed at upscaling and restoring footage and images while preserving natural detail. Adobe points to use cases like restoring archival film, refining low-light and mobile footage, and modernizing large legacy media archives for broadcasters and studios. Read the full announcement.
