Superwhisper adds a floating control for Android dictation

By Steven Van ·

The Android post shows a control you can drag, dock, and tap. The docs call it a floating bubble and limit the app to phones.

On October 29, Superwhisper posted a floating pill for dictation on Android. In the demo you drag it, dock it, and tap it to dictate.

The Android docs describe the same idea as a floating bubble. It hovers over other apps, a tap starts a recording, and stopping the recording inserts the text where you are typing. The docs say this needs permission to draw over other apps, insert text, and use the microphone.

Superwhisper says the Android app supports phones only. Tablets are not supported. The post does not say whether the new control is limited to a paid plan, and it does not name an Android version number.
