Suno adds tools to edit songs after generation
By Steven Van ·
New Song Editor, stem extraction, 8-minute uploads and creative sliders let users rework tracks instead of just re-prompting them.
Suno has added four tools aimed at editing tracks after they're generated, rather than just prompting new ones. The update is available now.
- Song Editor: reorder, rewrite, and remake a track section by section, directly from the waveform.
- Stem Extraction: splits a track into up to 12 clean stems, including vocals, drums, and bass, ready to preview and download.
- Extended Uploads: bring in full songs up to 8 minutes long and build from your own sound, whether it's a finished track or a single riff.
- Creative Sliders: additional controls for shaping how a generation turns out.
Details are in Suno's release notes. Suno turns text prompts into complete songs with vocals, instrumentals, mixing, and mastering.
