Release: Java SDK v1.52.0
By Steven Van ·
We've added support for the TaskCardBlock layout block (task_card type) and related fields, as well as UrlSourceElement for the sources field.
The Slack Java SDK v1.52.0 adds Block Kit support for two new layout blocks and wraps a set of Slack Code API methods for Slack, as listed in the release note.
New layout blocks
- TaskCardBlock (task_card type) and its related fields, plus UrlSourceElement for the sources field.
- ContainerBlock (container type) and its related fields.
Code API methods
The SDK now supports these methods:
- agents.conversations.archive
- agents.conversations.create
- agents.conversations.getCanvas
- agents.conversations.listViews
- agents.conversations.removeView
- agents.conversations.setCanvasContent
- agents.conversations.setCommands
- agents.conversations.setProperties
- agents.conversations.setView
How setView works
The linked reference page documents agents.conversations.setView, which creates or updates a view in a code channel. In Java it is called as app.client().agentsConversationsSetView. It needs a granular bot token with the code_channels:manage scope, and special rate limits apply.
The type argument sets the kind of view and defaults to html:
- html and diff require content, capped at 1,000,000 bytes.
- block_kit requires blocks.
- canvas requires canvas_id.
- pull_request requires pr_url.
Views are keyed by an agent-assigned view_key. The first call for a key creates the view and a channel tab, and later calls with the same key update it in place and bump content_version. A channel can hold up to 5 views, and at most one of them can be a diff.
