Compare-at prices now shared to agentic channels
By Steven Van ·
Stores can control sharing in admin, and only compare-at prices higher than the current price are sent.
AI shopping agents can now see when a product is marked down through Shopify Catalog. Previously, agents reading Catalog received only the current price, without the compare-at price shown on the storefront.
Which prices are shared
When compare-at sharing is enabled, Catalog sends a product's compare-at price only if it is higher than the current price. AI agents might use it to advertise strikethrough pricing. With the setting off, Catalog sends only the current price.
Review the setting in admin
All stores can customize their Catalog data. In Shopify admin, go to Sales channels, then Agentic. Under Sources, select Shopify Catalog and click Review product data mapping. Turn the switch in the Compare-at section on or off, then click Save.
Each store starts with a default selection. Changes to how the store uses compare-at prices do not automatically change that selection. The Preview tab can show an eligible product's compare-at price with a strikethrough and a percentage discount badge, though it is not an exact indicator of how AI channels will display the data.
Changes may take time to reach Catalog. Shopify's catalog mapping documentation explains the setting and preview workflow.
