Runway launches Media Router to auto-pick generative models

Runway is tackling a problem that quietly plagues everyone working across generative media: too many models, and no easy way to know which to use when. Media Router is Runway's answer, the first preference-optimized router for generative media. Instead of hand-picking a model for every request, you define what "best" means once, cost, quality, or latency, and the router selects the right video, image, or audio model for you.
The model-sprawl problem
The generative media landscape has exploded, dozens of video, image, and audio models, each with different strengths, prices, and speeds, and new ones every week. That abundance is a burden: picking the optimal model for each task requires tracking a fast-moving field and re-deciding constantly. Media Router abstracts that away. You express a preference once, and it routes each request to the model that best satisfies it, so you stop managing models and start describing intent.

Routers are having a moment, Cursor shipped its own model router the same week, promising frontier results at lower cost by matching model to task.
