Riverside adds in-person multicam recording
By Steven Van ·
Multiple cameras in one room now sync automatically inside a single Riverside session, no separate audio recorder needed.
Riverside built its name on high-quality remote recording; now it's moving into the room. In-person multicam recording is here, letting you capture several cameras at the same table in a single session. The tagline says the intent: capture the chemistry, not just the conversation.
Beyond remote squares
Remote recording gives you clean, separate tracks, but it can't fake the energy of people in the same space. Plenty of shows have shifted back to in-person tapings for exactly that reason, and until now that meant leaving Riverside for a more complicated multi-camera setup. In-person multicam closes the gap: point multiple cameras at the room, record them together, and get the angles and eye contact that make a conversation feel alive.
Synced by default is the real win
The unglamorous value here is synchronization. Anyone who has hand-aligned footage from three cameras and a separate audio recorder knows it's the worst part of the edit. Capturing everything inside one Riverside session means the cameras (and audio) come out already in sync, ready to cut between angles without the timeline gymnastics. That's what turns "we filmed it in person" from a post-production headache into a workflow.
One tool from record to clip
Multicam slots into a Riverside that keeps getting more end-to-end. In recent weeks it added social scheduling and an agentic editor that understands your conversation, and its clipping feature crossed 3 million clips generated. Add in-person capture to that, and a show can be recorded, edited by angle and content, clipped, and scheduled without leaving one platform, whether the guests are remote or right across the table.
Try it
In-person multicam recording is available on Riverside now. If you've been renting a studio or juggling separate cameras for your in-person tapings, this is the setup to test against your current rig, especially for the sync savings alone.
