Rive's AI Agent becomes free, with a faster Ask mode
By Steven Van ·
Free users get hourly-recharging Agent access as Rive adds cheaper models and an Ask mode; Cadet drops AI credits for new subscribers.
The Rive Agent is now available to Free users, not just paid plans. Rive says the change comes after feedback that the Agent burned through credits too fast: it has introduced more efficient models that cost less, plus an Ask mode for questions that don't need the full Agent.
- Free gets Agent access with a capacity that recharges hourly.
- Cadet ($9/mo) keeps the same free Agent modes rather than a premium AI tier; new Cadet subscriptions no longer include AI credits, though anyone already on Cadet keeps their $5/mo rate and premium access.
- Voyager ($20/mo) gets premium models with monthly recurring credits and the option to top up.
Rive calls this an early release and is still working on making the Agent more selective about context and tools, alongside exploring MCP support and bringing your own API keys. Feedback goes to the Rive Community or Discord. Read the full announcement.
