A fast-moving 0.8.5x series
This release continues an unusually quick shipping cadence. Rive has pushed a steady stream of 0.8.5x editor builds since late May, including 0.8.5094, 0.8.5103, 0.8.5113, and 0.8.5134, often only days apart. Each build bundles editor improvements and fixes, and several have shipped with runtime updates so exported files behave consistently across platforms.
What Rive has been shipping around these builds
The editor releases are landing alongside bigger swings elsewhere in the product. GPU Canvas, Rive's low-level GPU layer for 3D, shaders, and custom effects, entered early access in June. Lists gained a drawIndex property for controlling the draw order of individual items. The Rive Agent picked up Claude Sonnet 5 and Quiver AI illustrations on Voyager plans. Incremental editor builds like 0.8.5275 are what keep that larger feature work stable week to week.
Why the cadence matters
Rive sits in a growing category of tools where design, animation, and runtime logic live in one file, and its editor is the single surface for all three. Frequent small releases mean fixes for state machines, layouts, and scripting reach production teams quickly instead of piling up into risky quarterly updates. If you hit a bug in a Rive file last week, there is a decent chance a 0.8.5x build already addressed it.
