Reve launches an API, exposing its layout model to developers
By Steven Van ·
The API brings Reve's 4K image and layout-reasoning model to pipelines and agents for the first time.
Reve took the step that turns a great app into infrastructure: the Reve API is here. Developers can now build with what Reve calls the world's best 4K image model directly in their own pipelines and agents, and, for the first time, the layout model that powers Reve is available programmatically.
The layout model is the differentiator
Most image APIs give you a text-to-image endpoint and hope for the best. Reve's distinguishing feature has always been its layout-based generation, the model reasons about composition and placement rather than just painting a prompt, which is why it leads on prompt adherence and produces clean, legible text in dense designs. Exposing that layout model via API is the interesting part: it means programmatic generation of things that usually break, posters with correct text placement, templated marketing assets, on-brand layouts at 4K, without a human nudging each result.
What it unlocks
An API turns Reve from a place you make images into a component other software calls. Concretely: an agent that generates on-brand social assets on a schedule, a product that lets its own users create designs, a bulk pipeline that renders hundreds of localized variations. Reve's precise editing and reference features (shareable now in the app) point toward an API where consistency across a batch is achievable, not accidental, exactly what production use demands.
The frontier-model-as-API race
Reve joins a crowded, fast-moving field, HeyGen shipped batch and clipping APIs, fal hosts LTX Reframe, ByteDance distributes Seedream everywhere, all within the same stretch. What Reve brings is a specific strength: if your use case lives or dies on layout and text fidelity, the model that's best at those is now callable. It caps a remarkable run for Reve, Reframe, Layer Groups, shareable references, and a Teams launch all landed the same week, and the API is the piece that lets everyone else build on top of it.
Get started
The Reve API is live now; details and access are at reve.com. If you've been reaching for a general-purpose image API and fighting it on text and layout, this is the one to benchmark against your hardest templated use case.
