Work across projects from a chat
By Steven Van ·
Each project gets a background task to track and review, and requested edits do not automatically publish the app.
A single chat in Replit can now find existing projects, read their files, and send work to them without opening each project first. Requests can cover one project or several, with changes handled as background tasks.
Find a project and request a change
Name a project, describe what it does, or provide its Replit link. If several projects match, select the one to update. Only projects you have permission to access are available.
Describe a specific outcome, such as adding CSV export. Replit can use project files, development logs, and other available context to inform the task, including information from connected tools such as customer feedback in Slack.
Follow and review the work
An agent working in the project carries out the change. Replit provides a task link, and the task also appears in the chat’s side panel. Open it to follow progress, review changes, and continue work in the project. Requesting an edit does not automatically publish the app.
Work across several projects
A single request can update multiple projects, with a separate task for each appearing in the chat’s side panel. The announcement also describes bringing a feature from one project to another, comparing how apps work, and drafting documentation across several websites from one chat.
