Web Threads, the glowing-threads background in React Bits, has been updated with new motion, cursor and click behaviour.
Motion and interaction
- Threads now draw in one after another.
- The strand under the cursor lights up while the rest recede.
- Clicks send light into the pinch.
New options
The update adds braids, a 3D twist, traveling pulses, rotation and soft ends. It also allows more threads and colors, and includes a cleaner light mode.
Install
The component can be added in JavaScript or TypeScript, with plain CSS or Tailwind. The TypeScript and Tailwind version installs with npx shadcn@latest add @react-bits/WebThreads-TS-TW.
