✨ New In Raycast AI
AI Chat now works through multi-step tasks on its own, and Raycast is moving from rate-limited to usage-based AI pricing with a new Max plan.
Raycast rebuilt the core of Raycast AI Chat. Give it a task now and it works out a plan, calls on your extensions, writes and runs code, checks its own results, and keeps going until it's done, trying a different approach if something fails. When it needs a decision from you, it stops, asks, and continues once you answer.
Because these agentic tasks cost more to run than a single question, this update also changes how Raycast charges for AI: plans move from rate-limited to usage-based. Subscription prices stay the same, and a new Max plan is available for heavier use.
- Bring Your Own Subscriptions: paid plans can now connect a Claude or ChatGPT account and use those models in AI Chat, Quick AI, and AI Commands, enabled from Settings → AI → Models & Providers.
- Projects: keep conversations on the same topic together with their own memory, and optionally point a project at a working directory, such as an Obsidian vault or a folder of invoices, so the agent knows where to work with your files.
- Automations: run prompts on a schedule so the agent works in the background and adds the result to a chat, for tasks like triaging an inbox each morning or checking open pull requests hourly.
