Project Genie can now ground generated worlds in real US locations

Google AI Ultra subscribers can style a Street View spot, save worlds to a library, and share previews externally.
Google DeepMind has added a set of updates to Project Genie, including the ability to start a generated world from a real place. Tapping the Maps pin lets users pick a US location and apply a style, such as "Desert Sands" or "Ocean World," with Genie grounding the world in real-world imagery from that spot.
- Street View Grounding: generate worlds starting from real US locations, styled and tied to real-world imagery.
- Library: store, organize, and revisit past generated worlds, or remix favourites.
- External sharing: anyone can watch a video preview of a shared world; Ultra subscribers can explore or remix it.
The updates are rolling out gradually to all eligible Google AI Ultra subscribers globally, for users 18 and over.
