Plaid updates OAuth error responses for form and JSON requests
By Steven Van ·
Sandbox transactions now work on every Item with up to 730 days of history, while Link adds Haitian Creole and UK returning-user support.
Error responses from Plaid’s /oauth/* endpoints now follow the OAuth specification for requests using application/x-www-form-urlencoded, and the Plaid API format for requests using application/json. The October 13 update also expands Sandbox testing and adds changes to Link, consumer reports, identity checks and transfers.
Sandbox transactions and Link
/sandbox/transactions/create now works on every Sandbox Item, rather than only those created with user_transactions_dynamic. It can create transactions up to 730 days in the past, up from 14 days, and accepts an optional account_id to associate a transaction with a specific account.
Link now supports Haitian Creole (ht), and the Link Returning User Experience is enabled for the UK.
Consumer report workflows
Plaid Check Consumer Report adds /cra/report/create and /cra/report/get to consolidate API workflows. The older /check_report/ endpoints remain supported. An optional cra_report_parameter object in /link/token/create configures Plaid Check products for a Link session using the same parameters and products entries as /cra/report/create.
The Account object also gains paired_account_id. For Items created through a hybrid flow using both Plaid Inc. and Plaid Check products, it identifies the corresponding account at the same financial institution on the paired Item.
Identity checks and transfer adjustments
- /identity/match/list returns a paginated list of Link-based Identity Match checks and outcomes. Access requires contacting an account manager.
- Identity Verification responses now include kyc_check.id_number.ssa_verification, containing the SSA match result and is_deceased status.
- TransferEventType gains adjustment for adjustments caused by rare activity, such as a dishonor. The event_amount field records the adjusted amount: positive amounts credit the ledger, and negative amounts debit it.
