The update also launches Instant Link and LendScore 2, adds a missed-webhook endpoint and modernizes the Go client library.
Chase Items connected since August 21, 2026 have been backfilled with consent_expiration_time, which Plaid now returns through /item/get. The October 8 update also includes lending launches, developer tools and Transfer Dashboard changes.
Instant Link retrieves previously permissioned insights
Consumers can consent through Plaid’s Consumer Reporting Agency (CRA) to lenders accessing their cash flow data for future credit applications. For qualifying sessions, lenders submit basic borrower information, such as name, address and phone number. Plaid matches it to an existing network profile and returns permissioned insights in under two seconds, without the borrower interacting with the Link flow again.
LendScore 2 adds more granular risk assessment
LendScore 2 introduces a score range of 1,000 to 2,000 and an updated core model, Ls2. Plaid reports that Ls2 delivers 42% greater predictive power than traditional credit data alone. Specialized models cover Auto, Home Lending and Short Term lending.
In Plaid’s testing, the Auto model lowered delinquency by 26% among deep-subprime applicants at the same approval rate. Home Lending approved 6.3% more borrowers at the same risk level, while Short Term approved 63% more. Each comparison is against traditional credit data alone.
Lenders can contact their Plaid Account Manager about adopting Instant Link or upgrading to LendScore 2. Plaid’s lending announcement explains both launches.
