Pika’s ChatGPT plugin brings Camera Director and Motion Transfer into chat
By Steven Van ·
Pika’s 40+ video, image and sound apps now run inside ChatGPT’s chat and side panel, from new camera moves on a clip to reusable characters.
Pika launched a ChatGPT plugin on October 16, built with OpenAI, that puts all of Pika’s creative tools directly into your chat and a side panel. You can work with tool options, visual presets and generations inside the conversation, or open the Pika plugin window for a fully designed workspace.
What you can do
Pika says the plugin brings its 40+ image, sound and video apps into ChatGPT on desktop and web. On October 18 it highlighted three of them. Camera Director adds a cinematic camera move to any clip, from an orbit to a slow push-in, while the performance stays exactly as it was. Motion Transfer lets you film a dance once and teach it to any character.
Character Studio turns a request like a new mascot into a full reference sheet, then saves the character to your library, ready for its next shoot. You can also edit on a timeline together with ChatGPT, asking it to adjust timing, regenerate clips, and add transitions, effects and music.
Availability
The plugin works with your full Pika library. Everything you’ve made with Pika shows up in ChatGPT, and everything you make in ChatGPT is saved back to Pika. Pika is adding 250 credits to each account after its first plugin generation. You can install it from Pika’s plugin page. The announcement does not say which ChatGPT plans support the plugin.
Why it matters
New camera moves, motion transfer and character sheets usually mean jumping between separate tools. With the plugin, you can describe the shot in ChatGPT, refine it in the same conversation, and find the results in your Pika library afterwards.
