Effort Mode, GPT-6 Astra, and Skills Marketplace
By Steven Van ·
Perplexity adds effort levels to Computer, opens a Skills Marketplace, and brings GPT-6 Astra to Pro and Max plans.
Perplexity's Computer agent now lets users pick an effort level before running a task, choosing between Light, Standard, High, and Ultra depending on how much reasoning the job needs. The change is part of a wider update to Perplexity released on 21 September.
- GPT-6 Astra is now available to eligible Pro and Max subscribers.
- A public Skills Marketplace has launched, with Enterprise controls for sharing skills and approving their use.
- Portable Computer runs local-first on supported NVIDIA PCs, and compatible Macs can split tasks between hybrid cloud and on-device compute.
- Side Chat lets users ask questions alongside a task that is still running.
- History search has been added.
