Notion Calendar's AI meeting notes now work with Outlook

Connect an Outlook calendar to get upcoming meetings in the sidebar and AI transcripts on those events.

Microsoft-first teams just got a reason to look at Notion Calendar again. On July 1, 2026, Notion announced that its AI Meeting Notes now work with the Outlook calendar — surfacing upcoming meetings right in the sidebar, firing calendar-driven notifications so nothing slips, and attaching AI transcription and summaries to the Outlook events you already keep. It closes a real gap: until now, the deepest AI-notes experience leaned toward Google and iCloud users, leaving Outlook shops to wire things up manually.

Your Outlook meetings, now in the sidebar

The headline change is context. Connect an Outlook calendar and your upcoming meetings appear in the Notion Calendar sidebar, ready to act on. Calendar-driven notifications give you a gentle nudge as a meeting approaches, so you can spin up notes with a single click instead of scrambling once the call has already started. For anyone whose work life lives inside Microsoft 365, this removes the friction of jumping between apps just to capture what was said.

Rich note headers pulled from the event

Every meeting note now opens with a header built from the calendar event itself — attendee names and event details are pulled in automatically, rather than typed by hand. That structure matters more than it sounds: when a note is linked to a real calendar event, Notion can label participants by name in the transcript, which sharpens the summary and makes it clear who owns each follow-up. The result is a note that reads like a proper record, not a raw dump of text.

AI transcription and summaries on autopilot

Behind the header, AI Meeting Notes captures both your microphone and system audio, transcribes the conversation, and produces a summary with action items you can route to the right teammate. Because the notes live in your Notion workspace, they sit alongside the docs, tasks, and databases the meeting actually touches — so a decision made on a call is one click from the project it affects. Speaker identification, driven by whose mic is active, helps keep multi-person meetings legible.

What it means for Microsoft-first teams

Notion has long unified Google, iCloud, and Outlook calendars in one fast view; extending the AI layer to Outlook events makes that unification useful, not just cosmetic. If your team schedules in Outlook but wants Notion's connected notes, you no longer have to choose. It is worth noting the feature is rolling out and evolving, so exact availability may vary by account — but the direction is clear: Notion wants meeting memory to work no matter which calendar you booked in.
