Claude Sonnet 5.5 now available in AI Gateway and Agent Runners

Netlify users can call the model from Functions with the Anthropic SDK and no API keys, including Background, Scheduled and Edge Functions.
Claude Sonnet 5.5 is now available through the AI Gateway and Agent Runners on Netlify, with zero configuration required. The Anthropic SDK can be used directly in Netlify Functions without managing API keys or authentication, because AI Gateway handles that automatically.
The vendor's example creates an Anthropic client with no arguments inside a function and calls anthropic.messages.create with the model set to claude-sonnet-5-5.
The model is also available across Background Functions, Scheduled Functions and Edge Functions. Requests get automatic access to Netlify's caching, rate limiting and authentication infrastructure.
