Netlify's AI Gateway and Agent Runners now support OpenAI's ChatGPT Images 2.5 models, gpt-image-2.5-flare and gpt-image-2.5-sunburst, with no configuration required. Developers can call the OpenAI SDK directly from Netlify Functions to generate images without managing API keys or authentication, since AI Gateway handles that automatically.

The models work across standard Functions, Background Functions, Scheduled Functions, Edge Functions, and Agent Runners, all with automatic access to Netlify's caching, rate limiting, and authentication infrastructure. Full details are in the announcement.
