Murf's List Voices endpoint now accepts a model parameter, with separate voice catalogs for Falcon 2.1 streaming and Gen2 synthesis.
The Murf API's List Voices endpoint now takes a model parameter. Pass falcon-2.1 to list voices for streaming, or gen2 to list voices for synthesis. Each model has its own catalog, per Murf's Voice Library documentation.
Match the list to the endpoint
Murf says to fetch the list that matches the model before sending a voiceId on Stream Speech, WebSockets, or Synthesize Speech. Falcon 2.1 voices are for realtime agents, and Gen2 voices are for studio voiceover. The Falcon 2.1 catalog is fetched with GET /v1/speech/voices?model=falcon-2.1.
Gen2 and streaming
The Voice Library page notes that the Gen2 model has been decommissioned for streaming. Gen2 voices remain available through Synthesize (Gen 2), and streaming should use Falcon 2.1.
What each voice entry lists
- Voice ID, the unique identifier for the voice
- Supported locales, meaning the locales beyond the base language that the voice supports through Multilingual technology
- Voice styles available for the voice
- A sample audio file
The documentation describes the Falcon 2.1 catalog as 150+ voices in 20+ expressive styles. Murf's Voice Library page lists both catalogs. Supported voices and languages differ by model, so a voice available in one catalog may not be in the other.
