Two weeks ago, we launched a very rough draft of some big changes to alpha.midjourney.com.
Midjourney has pushed a round of fixes and UX improvements to the alpha version of alpha.midjourney.com, two weeks after opening it to testers. The changelog covers sidebar folders, restored image tools, and a long list of smaller bugs.
- Projects can now be organized into collapsible groups in the sidebar, renamed with a double-click and with new folders filed straight into them. The sidebar itself was cleaned up: recent folders at the top, a "Show all" toggle, a New Project button, and Styles moved into a dropdown.
- Upscale, Zoom, and Vary are back, with Vary now respecting user settings instead of quietly running in HD. Older V8.2 images got their Upscale buttons back too.
- Settings now stick instead of resetting on their own, and Relax no longer flips back to Fast.
- Fixed lag in prompt typing, settings sliders, and scrolling deep into the gallery.
- Submitting a prompt now keeps pills and image references in the bar for the next run, clearing only the text. Prompt pills got a visual refresh, hover cards explaining each flag, and a working right-click context menu.
- Gallery filters were redesigned as toggle chips, downloads save with correct filenames again, and Explore's Top Week and Top Month now show V8.2 images.
Midjourney says fixing this many things this fast likely introduced new bugs, and is asking alpha testers to keep reporting them in #alpha-ideas-and-bugs.
