Alpha Changelog - 9/16/26
By Steven Van ·
Midjourney's alpha site adds Korean support and ships editor, mobile, prompt bar and organizing fixes.
Midjourney pushed another update to its alpha site, alpha.midjourney.com, continuing the effort to simplify the interface without removing existing controls. The alpha now supports Korean, and Midjourney is taking sign-ups from people interested in helping bring the product to more languages.
- The v8.2 editor gets a round of fixes: the prompt bar asks "What would you like to change?" when an image is attached, draft batches show their source images in a grid with hover previews, a working Enhance option replaces the old Upscale button, and "Add to Folder" now works from the editor even with no existing folders.
- Mobile and tablet get a first pass: pages use the full width, content no longer hides behind the bottom bar, rotating the phone or toggling Safari's toolbar no longer leaves a blank strip, menus and sheets stay on screen, uploads get a 3-dot menu for deleting them, and search opens the keyboard immediately. Midjourney still recommends using the production site rather than the alpha on mobile.
- In the prompt bar, a single backtick no longer freezes the tab, typing --no a, b now reads the full list, long text wraps instead of clipping, and pill contents stay put when a preview pops up. The search drawer now shows Frequent and Recent srefs that can be clicked to filter.
- Organizing improves: dragging images to a folder works with the sidebar collapsed, folder links survive renames, adding to a moodboard by link works for external sites, Organize is now top-level with a flyout on hover over a collapsed icon, and Change Style now matches the Styles panel.
- Other fixes: Animate works again after being broken in a prior update, grids and profiles fill the width, Escape closes just the open menu rather than the whole image, and PageUp/PageDown/Home/End scroll the feed while the search drawer is open.
Midjourney says default parameters, sref previews alongside a prompt, and other navigation changes are next, and is asking for feedback in its #alpha-ideas-and-bugs channel.
