Alpha Changelog - 10/7/26

By Steven Van ·

Shared folders support collaborators and viewers, while an early thinking mode reruns V8.2 images to address missed prompt details.

Creators can now generate images together in shared folders on Midjourney’s alpha site. The latest alpha changelog also adds an early “thinking” mode for rerunning V8.2 jobs, alongside organization improvements and fixes.

Shared folders and permissions

Folder owners can invite people by username as Collaborators or Viewers. Collaborators can generate directly into the folder and build on each other’s work, while Viewers can browse its images. Link sharing supports access limited to invited people, viewing by anyone with the link, or contributions from any Midjourney member.

Owners can delete a shared folder for everyone, but images remain in each creator’s own history. Sharing does not change image privacy: non-stealth images can still appear on Explore and profiles, even when created inside a private folder. Shared folders are an early version.

Rerun images with thinking

Standard and edit jobs made with V8.2 can now be rerun with “thinking.” Midjourney examines the image for places where it missed the prompt, including objects, layout, anatomy and text, then generates again. This mode is also an early version.

Organization and reference uploads

  • Folders can be pinned to the top of the sidebar and renamed in place. Parameter pills set in a folder now persist across sessions.
  • Search and Filters on Organize have moved into the feed’s top row. Deleting a personalization profile now offers Undo instead of a confirmation dialog.
  • Large moodboard uploads process a few images at a time and show a progress bar, preventing multiple reference uploads from stalling.

Editor, video and account fixes

  • Stalled edit submissions now fail within two minutes, and jobs that succeeded without appearing now show up in the feed. The inline editor no longer crashes after an edit.
  • Keyboard shortcuts no longer activate beneath open dialogs or zoomed images. Older Firefox versions work again, and loading a long history no longer stalls partway.
  • The “+N more” pill now applies image settings correctly, and Live Style Previews work with custom styles.
  • Using --tile with an attached image now displays an incompatibility message. Typing --pv turns it into a parameter pill, and video Extend and Loop explain the length cap when it is reached.
  • Draft mode on V8.1 and V8.2 always produces a 24-image grid, with tooltips, hover text and Try buttons now reflecting that behavior.
  • Help, billing support and ticket links now reach their intended destinations. Rare job types no longer crash the page, and grid spacing has been cleaned up.
  • Temporary account suspensions now include an Appeal button. Restricted accounts show dimmed controls with an explanation instead of a moderator error.
