Manus now generates editable PowerPoint files, not screenshots of them
By Steven Van ·
Charts in Manus decks are now native PowerPoint objects that redraw when you change a value, instead of flat images.
Manus fixed the difference that makes AI-generated decks actually usable at work. Before, Manus generated slides and then converted them to .pptx, a process that tended to flatten charts into pictures. Now Manus generates .pptx directly, which means the file you download behaves like a real PowerPoint, not a screenshot of one.
Editable charts are the whole point
The standout is charts that redraw when you change a value, genuine native PowerPoint charts backed by data, not flat images. Anyone who's received an AI deck knows the pain: the numbers are wrong or outdated, and the chart is an un-editable PNG, so you rebuild it from scratch. Native charts mean you open the file, correct the figure, and the bars re-draw. Manus also exposes chart controls, toggle labels, gridlines, and the legend on or off, the kind of formatting fidelity that separates a draft from a deliverable.
Direct generation beats conversion
The architectural shift, generate .pptx directly rather than convert to it, is why this works. Conversion is lossy: it captures how slides look and discards how they're built. Generating the native format preserves structure, editable text boxes, real chart objects, proper layouts, so the deck arrives as something you can keep working on in the app your colleagues and clients actually use. Download and open in PowerPoint, and everything is where it should be.
The last-mile pattern, again
Manus keeps attacking the gap between AI output and finished deliverable. Days ago it added a Typst skill for professionally typeset PDFs; now it's native PowerPoint. The theme is consistent: content generation is solved, and the remaining value is in producing the exact file format the recipient expects, editable and correct. For anyone who makes client decks or internal reports, direct .pptx is the feature that moves Manus from idea generator to actual document producer.
Try it
PowerPoint Slides is live in Manus now. The real test is the edit after the fact, generate a data-heavy deck, then change a number and confirm the chart updates instead of breaking.
