Manus lets users duplicate a website project into its own session

By Steven Van ·

The copy keeps code, database schema and secrets but starts unpublished with an empty database, so tests never touch the original.

Manus Website Builder now lets users duplicate a project into a new, independent session before making major changes. The Make a Copy feature is available from the three-dot menu on a project card in the Library, or from the General tab of project settings in the WebDev editor.

The copy carries over the project code, database schema, and secrets, plus a short summary of the original session's conversation history. It does not carry over database rows, custom domain settings, the GitHub connection, or the full chat history: the copy starts with an empty database and stays unpublished until published separately. Changes made in the copy do not affect the original project. Manus suggests the feature for testing redesigns or framework changes, giving a data-backed app a clean database, testing payment flows separately, or reusing a finished project as a template for new sites.
