Introducing Manus 2.0

Manus 2.0 is a ground-up rebuild rather than a version update, according to the announcement. It is available now on the web, desktop and mobile. The release includes:

• Cascade: a new in-house agent harness that keeps a project light and brings in specialised capabilities only when the work needs them. In one tested configuration it used 23.2% fewer tokens, finished tasks in 28.2% less time and cost 32% less to run than the previous system.
• Cloud Computer: a dedicated environment you can purchase for projects that need one, such as the server behind a multiplayer game or a permanent home for an automation.
• Automations: tasks can now start when something happens in a connected service, not only at a set time. A new email, a change in ad performance, a calendar event, a Slack message or a Notion update can act as the trigger, and one prompt sets it up.
• Manus Studio: the desktop app becomes a shared workspace for documents, spreadsheets, PDFs, slides, websites, code, games and video.
• Video Editor: Manus builds a first cut and hands over the timeline, with clips, images, text, motion graphics and audio as separate pieces. You can swap the song, drop in your own footage, move an animation and export, or ask Manus to take another pass from your edits. It is built for short product ads (30 to 60 seconds), AI UGC, data motion graphics, tutorials, vlogs and motion-led videos. Alchemy mode lets Manus take the creative direction from an idea.
• Game Dev: starts from a playable template, with an Edit panel to run the game, manage assets, edit code and change individual characters or scenes. Games can be published as a website that anyone can play from a link. Multiplayer needs a Cloud Computer, set up through Configure, Multiplayer, Select Cloud Computer, Buy one.
• Remote Control and Computer Use: you can direct Manus on your computer from your phone and watch the desktop live. In a connected and authorised session, Manus works in its own visible workspace using the files, browser and apps you have approved.

Manus also introduced Cue, a separate app for personal agents on phone and desktop. Each agent has its own email, phone number, wallet and computer, and can pay within a budget you set. Several agents can work together in a group chat. Cue is in early access and free with an invite code (MEETCUE works for a limited number of early users, first come, first served). The iOS version is coming after App Store review.
