Manus Upgrades to a Full Google Workspace Connector With Access Controls
Manus expanded its Google Drive connector into a Google Workspace connector, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Forms, with per-connection Off/Read/Full access levels.
Manus widened how much of your Google world its agent can reach, and, importantly, gave you tight control over it. The Google Drive connector got upgraded to a full Google Workspace connector: now you can connect Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Forms all through a single connector, with clear access levels you set before connecting.
One connector, the whole Workspace
Consolidating Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Forms into a single Workspace connector matters because real work spans all of them, a project lives across a doc, a spreadsheet, and a deck, not in one silo. An agent that can only see Drive files but not read a Sheet or a Slide is half-blind. Covering the whole Workspace through one connection lets Manus reason across your actual working set the way you do.
Off, Read, Full: your boundaries
The best part is the permission model. Before connecting, you set the access level: Off (Manus can't see it), Read (Manus can search and read, never edit), or Full (Manus can read and write). That three-tier control is exactly the right design for handing an agent access to your files, granular, explicit, and conservative by default. "Your files, your boundaries," as Manus puts it. You can let it read your reference material while keeping it from touching anything, or grant full write access to a specific workspace, on your terms.
Why permission granularity matters
The hesitation with connecting an agent to your documents is always "what can it actually do?" Read-only access removes the biggest fear, the agent can help without the risk of it editing or deleting something. Offering Read as a distinct level (not just all-or-nothing) is what makes it safe to connect broadly: you can give Manus wide visibility for search and analysis while reserving write access for exactly where you want it.
