LTX's Reframe API expands video without altering the original frame

By Steven Van ·

The API generates new margin pixels for 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, and 4:5 at up to 1080p and 60 seconds, live via LTX and fal.

LTX drew a sharp line under the competition with its new Reframe API. Most reframe tools, as LTX puts it, crop, downsize, or hallucinate. LTX Reframe instead expands a video to a new aspect ratio while leaving the original frame completely untouched, generating only the pixels beyond the edges. It's outpainting done with discipline: your footage stays exactly as shot, and the model fills the margins.

Untouched original is the whole pitch

The critical guarantee is that Reframe never re-renders your actual footage. Crop-based tools throw away part of your frame; naive generative tools regenerate the whole thing and subtly change what you shot. LTX Reframe treats the source as immovable and only synthesizes the newly exposed areas, so a landscape clip becomes vertical by growing new top and bottom, not by mangling the middle. For anyone who cares about their footage surviving the process, that constraint is the feature.

Specs built for real placements

The API handles full source length up to 60 seconds at native 1080p, across the aspect ratios that matter, 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, and 4:5, all built on the LTX-2.3 model. The framing LTX uses, one master reframed for every placement, captures the workflow: shoot or edit once, then derive every platform's version from the same source without a re-edit per format. That's the same one-master logic Reve brought to still images, now for video as an API.

A model reaching every surface

LTX Reframe is available as LTX's own API and also runs on fal, so developers can reach it however they build. It's part of the broader reframe-and-repurpose wave cresting this month across fal, Reve, and others, and LTX's differentiator is the strict no-touch guarantee on the original frame. For products building localization or multi-platform publishing pipelines, that reliability is what makes automated reframing safe to ship.

Try it

The LTX Reframe API is live now via LTX and on fal. The test that proves the claim is a clip with detail near the frame edge, reframe it and confirm the original content is pixel-for-pixel intact while the new margins blend in.
