Stacked pull requests

By Steven Van ·

The update also adds live coding diffs, AI spend limits and up to 200 review guides per workspace per day on Basic.

Related pull requests now sit in one collapsible row in Linear Reviews, alongside their issue and project context. The October 8 update also adds live code updates during coding sessions, AI spending controls and Guided Reviews on Basic.

Review and merge a stack

Diffs displays stacked pull requests, with review, CI and merge status visible as users move through the stack. For GitHub-native stacks, users can preview every affected PR before merging the current PR and those below it from Linear.

Follow code changes during a session

Diffs now updates in realtime throughout a Linear coding session, including uncommitted changes from follow-up prompts. Users can follow the code as it evolves and steer the agent before or after a pull request is opened.

Inspect AI usage and limit spending

The new usage explorer breaks down AI credit spend by team, feature, user or loop across any time period. Admins can compare total spend, session count and average spend per session, then select a group in the chart or table for more detail.

Spend limits can be set at the workspace, user or loop level. When a limit is reached, additional AI credit usage pauses until the limit resets or an admin increases it. Billing admins and owners can access both features in Usage & Limits.

Guided Reviews on Basic

Guides, which walk through the most important changes in a pull request, are now available on Basic plans, with up to 200 guides per workspace per day. New previous and next controls let users move between Guide sections without marking them reviewed.
