Keiki puts a Vercel agent on iMessage, Slack, and WhatsApp

By Steven Van ·

The agent's code stays on Vercel, and the project stores no channel credentials.

An agent deployed on Vercel can now answer on iMessage, SMS, WhatsApp, Slack, Telegram, and email. Keiki published the Vercel Connect integration on October 30, 2026. The agent's code, model, and deployment stay on Vercel. Keiki runs the channels around it.

One agent, no channel secrets

Add Keiki from its page on Vercel Connect, or run vercel connect create keiki --name acme-keiki. Connect finds Keiki's sign-in, so there is no OAuth app to set up. On the consent screen you pick the Keiki agent this project gets, or name a new one. The grant reaches that agent's channel setup and nothing else in the workspace.

On deploy, the app asks Connect for a token and tells Keiki where its turn route lives. The write happens only when the URL changes. When someone texts the agent's number or mentions it in Slack, Keiki sends the route a signed turn. The route runs the model, and Keiki delivers the reply on the channel the message came in on. The project stores no channel credential and no Keiki secret. Keiki signs each turn with its own key, and the handler checks that signature against Keiki's published keys.

Who can turn it on

The post is for teams that already run an agent on Vercel and want people to reach it in a channel they already use. You need a Vercel project, a Keiki account on a plan (the plan is required to grant access), and a route the agent can be reached at. The agent can be built on the AI SDK or eve. After deploy, open the agent's Channels tab and add a line, Slack, WhatsApp, Telegram, or an email inbox. Every channel hits the same route.

The handler in the post comes from @onkeiki/ai-sdk. It answers Keiki with a 202 and keeps running the model. tools() returns that turn's Keiki tools, including reply, and keikiDelivered stops the turn once the reply is delivered so it is not sent twice. On eve, the post says to mount @onkeiki/eve and use the agent's /keiki/v1/dispatch path as the dispatch URL.

Checked the next day, Keiki's pricing page calls its Starter, Pro, Max, and Enterprise cards a preview and says they are not purchasable yet. Checkout shows the current offer. The Vercel post still says a plan is needed to grant access.
