HyperFrames v0.8.213

By Steven Van ·

The release fixes dropped frames in late-starting MP4 and WebM clips, and makes check skip text inside closed details elements.

Videos that start late in a clip now render every frame the preview shows. HyperFrames v0.8.213 also bundles fonts from a linked stylesheet, and its CLI reads files once instead of repeatedly. The linked change covers one fix in check.

Check ignores closed details elements

The check command now treats text inside a closed details element as not rendered. Previously, hidden text in a closed details could be judged as overlapping other content. The layout audit now calls the browser's checkVisibility even when no opacity floor is set, so content the page does not render is dropped.

A new Chromium test covers both cases. With the element closed, hidden text positioned over a button raises no content_overlap finding. With the element open, it does.

Other fixes in the release

  • Core: the bundler sees bundled fonts in a linked stylesheet or a font shorthand.
  • Core: a failed preview media load is reported instead of swallowed.
  • CLI: website capture ends with what it has instead of running until it is killed.
  • CLI: snapshot decodes each video once for all the times it shows.
  • CLI: check probes each audio file once, however many clips are cut from it.
  • CLI: a late teardown error no longer turns a finished command into exit 1.
  • Engine: late-starting MP4 and WebM videos render every frame the preview shows.
  • Studio: a timeline edit on a clip the file lacks says how the clip was looked up.
  • Audio: a sound counts as voice only with a voice-range pitch, judged on the whole clip.
