HyperFrames v0.8.210

By Steven Van ·

MOV renders gain ProRes profile selection, HDR sources are tone-mapped for non-HDR formats, and renderer crashes now fail immediately.

HyperFrames v0.8.210 lets MOV renders pick a ProRes profile. The new --prores-profile option on render accepts 4444, hq, 422, lt or proxy. HyperFrames also now tone-maps HDR sources for output formats that cannot carry HDR, and a page whose renderer crashes fails at once with the crash named as the reason, instead of hanging. The changes are listed in the announcement.

New in the CLI

  • render --prores-profile selects the ProRes profile for MOV output: 4444, hq, 422, lt or proxy.
  • doctor now names the tested ffmpeg build and says loudness is only comparable on that build.

Rendering fixes

  • HDR sources are tone-mapped for formats that cannot carry HDR.
  • HDR video windows after the first no longer repeat one frame.
  • Extraction waits out the decode up to a deep seek in a long-GOP video.
  • Uppercase WebM exports with Opus audio are now muxed.
  • A page whose renderer crashes fails at once, named as the crash.

Other fixes

  • hyperframes add keeps going when Windows holds the file it replaces.
  • A killed remove-background run no longer leaves its CoreML temp files behind.
  • In preview, the proxy copy for the video at the playhead is made ahead of the rest.
  • check fails a full-frame element that covers every other clip, and names it.
