HyperFrames v0.8.197

By Steven Van ·

Opaque VP9 cloud renders cost about 40 percent less, and Snapshot now reports unreadable clips instead of saving a black frame.

Cloud renders of opaque VP9 video now use compressed frames instead of lossless ones, which cuts their cost by about 40 percent. HyperFrames v0.8.197 also changes how Snapshot handles unreadable clips and how Studio handles closed projects. The full list is in the changelog.

Performance

  • VP9 and VP8 sources without an alpha plane are extracted as JPEG.
  • Text edits no longer rebuild the preview's caches every frame.
  • Studio frees each closed project's memory.

Fixes

  • Snapshot fails with the clip and time when it cannot read a clip, instead of saving a silent black frame.
  • A check that is stopped by a signal prints the report it has so far.
  • The SDK releases the parsed film when a session is disposed.

Lint

Lint now warns when a round-capped line that is hidden by its dash settings can still show a dot.

The release also fixes two flaky queue tests that raced real time or the first copy's start.
