HyperFrames v0.8.170

By Steven Van ·

Version 0.8.170 cuts preview memory on long projects, encodes audio in parallel segments and adds Openverse as a sound effect source.

Long projects now preview with far less memory in HyperFrames, and long renders finish their audio faster. Sound effects can also be sourced from Openverse. The changes are in v0.8.170.

New feature

Media Use can source sound effects from Openverse. It works with the bundled library offline.

Performance

  • Long renders encode their audio in parallel segments.
  • Every graded clip draws through one WebGL context, not one per clip.
  • A preview loads each web font once, not once per scene.
  • Distributed mp4 chunks can carry their slice of the plan audio.

Fixes

  • The plan hash no longer depends on the scratch folder.
  • Render starts in a sandbox that forbids lowering CPU priority.
  • The CLI shows the real import error when a cloud adapter is installed.
  • Font lookup on a Mac no longer waits 5 s on system_profiler.
  • Render workers stop loading the videos whose frames come from FFmpeg.
  • Font setup skips parsing stylesheets that cannot name a font.

The release also includes an internal fix to a player test, so the loading-overlay debounce test no longer races real time.
