The Brief: October 2026

By Steven Van ·

Legal teams gain cited searches across connected sources, a complaint-to-motion workflow and Excel answers tied to exact cells.

Finding matter documents, drafting cited motions and checking spreadsheet figures are among the changes in Harvey's October product update. The release also adds mobile workflows and language preferences.

Search connected matter content

  • The Connector Library brings pre-verified connectors into Harvey, with admin controls over who can use each connector and which actions run automatically.
  • Agentic Search finds precedents and prior work in SharePoint, OneDrive and Google Drive from a description of what is needed. Harvey plans the search and answers with citations to source documents.
  • Gmail Search retrieves messages, threads and labels from within a Harvey thread.
  • PacerPro Vault Sync loads every existing filing from a federal court docket when a litigation Vault is created, then adds new filings through a daily sync.
  • Ironclad contracts can be imported into Vault or Assistant for questions, key-term extraction and review tables across executed agreements.

Draft motions and focus research

The Motion to Dismiss Workflow with LexisNexis produces a complete, fully cited draft from a single complaint using live LexisNexis case law. Users approve the grounds and research plan before drafting begins.

Harvey has added 130+ legal research sources. Octus content supports leveraged finance and restructuring work with expert credit analysis, private company financials, covenant and restructuring data, and US court filings. Users can also save preferred Knowledge Source filters, including web search filters, and set a default for each source.

Check spreadsheets and review documents

Harvey now reads each Excel cell's underlying formula and saved value directly, with answers citing the exact cells used. Review tables gain a fullscreen document previewer, a condensed cell popover with key actions up front, and filtering and sorting controls for each column.

Two new model choices target complex legal analysis: Anthropic's Fable 5.1 for document-heavy litigation and dispute work, and OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra for surfacing unsupported assumptions and turning gaps into drafting positions.

Run agents and query sources on mobile

A new Agents tab in the mobile app lets users run, schedule and star custom agents. An agent can also be added to a thread to receive more context before running. Mobile connectors query connected sources and return cited answers, while Live Prompt Dictation transcribes prompts of any length in real time.

Language preferences now support responses in English (UK), German, Italian and Portuguese (Brazil and Portugal).
