Graphify with Google Antigravity: set up a code graph
By Steven Van ·
Graphify installs a skill, rule and /graphify workflow locally, or connects to Antigravity as a hosted MCP server with OAuth and no API key.
Graphify can now be set up with Google Antigravity in two ways: a local skill from the open-source Graphify CLI, or the hosted Graphify MCP server. The setup guide lists the commands and files for each.
Local setup
Install the package with uv tool install graphifyy, then run graphify antigravity install in the root of your repository. The installer writes three things:
- A skill at ~/.gemini/config/skills/graphify/SKILL.md, plus a references/ folder it loads on demand. It is global, so every workspace sees it.
- A rule at .agents/rules/graphify.md in the project, so Antigravity checks the graph before answering questions about the codebase.
- A workflow at .agents/workflows/graphify.md in the project, which provides the /graphify command.
On Windows, the installer detects the OS and uses the PowerShell version of the skill. Open Antigravity in the repository and send /graphify . to build the graph. It is written to graphify-out/, and code is parsed on your machine with tree-sitter.
Optional local MCP server
For full graph navigation tools, the installer also prints an MCP entry to add inside the mcpServers object of ~/.gemini/antigravity/mcp_config.json. It runs graphify.serve through uv against graphify-out/graph.json. Restart Antigravity after adding it.
Hosted setup
Antigravity can add a remote MCP server, and hosted Graphify is available at https://api.graphify.com/mcp over Streamable HTTP. The first connection opens a browser for OAuth sign-in, so no API key goes in a config file. A Graphify workspace with at least one indexed repository is required first.
- Connect a repository at app.graphify.com and wait until it shows Indexed.
- In Antigravity's MCP settings, add a server named graphify with the URL above, keeping your other servers.
- Complete the browser sign-in and choose the workspace.
- Ask Antigravity to list your Graphify workspaces and repositories.
Which to pick
Graphify recommends the local skill for projects that live on your machine or must stay offline. Hosted Graphify suits code on GitHub or GitLab, where the graph is rebuilt on every push and shared with a team. Configuring both in one project gives Antigravity two sets of Graphify tools, so pick one. The vendor suggests committing .agents/rules/graphify.md and .agents/workflows/graphify.md if your team uses Antigravity. The CLI parses code locally, while Antigravity sends what it reads to its own model provider under its own terms.
