The open-source codebase graph tool hit 125,736 stars and 12,000+ forks by 12 October, 117 days to 100,000 after its first commit on 5 April.
Graphify has passed 125,000 GitHub stars. On 12 October 2026 the public count for the Graphify-Labs/graphify repository was 125,736, and it had been forked more than 12,000 times.
The timeline
The first commit was on 5 April. The project reached 100,000 stars in August, 117 days after that commit. The vendor's chart of the full stretch shows a steep April followed by a steady climb through October. The announcement also follows a recent post about passing 8 million PyPI downloads.
What stays the same
- Code is parsed on the user's machine with tree-sitter, from the files in the repository.
- Every relationship is tagged EXTRACTED or INFERRED, which shows what was read from the source and what Graphify resolved.
- The project remains Apache 2.0 and open source.
- Install takes two commands, and the run takes one.
How it runs
Typing /graphify in an assistant returns a map of the codebase in about thirty seconds. The vendor names Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI and Copilot as the assistants people run it in. It builds on tree-sitter for syntax trees, Leiden community detection for splitting a repository into subsystems, Model Context Protocol for letting an assistant call the graph, and uv for the short install.
The announcement also mentions Graphify Cloud, described as the always-on version of the same map, kept current for code, docs and meetings. Details of the milestone are in the original post.
