Google opens a Connected Apps Platform for Gemini and Search

By Steven Van ·

Developers can register one app for Search, Gemini, or both, though access to this preview opens in phases.

Developers now have one place to build Connected Apps for Google Search and Gemini. Google posted the preview of the Connected Apps Platform on October 28, 2026. You build the app once. Before review, you choose Search, the Gemini app, or both.

Developers integrate with a cloud-hosted MCP server or Android MCP using the AppFunctions APIs, then register, test, and submit in the Google Connected Console. Once an app is live, the console tracks traffic, latency, and error rates, and the developer keeps verified logos and authenticated accounts.

Access opens in phases, with more developers, markets, and Google products over the coming months. The post lists no price.

More than 50 Connected Apps have launched across Search and Gemini. Adobe, Experian, Localiza, and Peloton are live in Gemini and coming to Search in the coming weeks, with Calm launching across both.
