Chrome Adds New Ways to Study with Gemini

Interactive quizzes built from a tab's contents are rolling out in English on desktop in the US and India, with more regions and mobile to follow.
Chrome is rolling out new ways to use Gemini for studying on desktop, plus a few tab and reading updates, according to a Google blog post.
- Gemini in Chrome now summarizes podcasts and videos from sites beyond YouTube once they've played through, identifying key takeaways, locating specific information, or clarifying confusing moments.
- Gemini can generate interactive quizzes from the contents of a tab, such as a Google Doc of notes, a research paper, or a YouTube video, to help check understanding of the material.
- Tab groups can be displayed vertically or horizontally, and split view keeps two tabs paired side by side so switching away and back doesn't break the layout.
- Sending a tab to another device now preserves its exact state, including scroll position and any partially filled forms.
- Reading mode allows adjusting font, letter spacing, and contrast, and the read aloud tool can narrate a page; on Android, its AI playback can turn a page into a podcast-like conversation.
