Gmail Live answers inbox questions by voice on mobile
By Steven Van ·
Google started the iOS and Android rollout on October 15 for listed paid plans, and only for US English accounts.
Paid Gmail users can ask the inbox a question by voice and hear the answer. Google Gemini powers Gmail Live. Google Workspace posted the mobile rollout on October 29. Google's October 15 update says it began that day on iOS and Android.
You tap Live in the Gmail search bar. A source card shows the email behind each answer, and you can pick the voice. It is on by default and follows existing smart features settings.
The rollout is gradual, up to 15 days, on Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains. Google lists Business and Enterprise Starter, Standard, and Plus, Frontline Plus, Workspace for Nonprofits, Gemini Business, Gemini Enterprise, AI Expanded Access, AI Ultra Access, Google AI Pro for Education, and consumer Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra. Only users in the US with EN-US are included. The note does not give Gmail Live a separate price.
