Glaze lets built apps scaffold their own MCP servers
By Steven Van ·
Version 0.10 also adds a Pro referral program, an affiliate program, and app store discovery upgrades.
Glaze, Raycast's build-a-desktop-app-by-describing-it platform, shipped version 0.10.0.0 with a standout developer feature: you can now scaffold Model Context Protocol servers inside the apps you build. The AI app you vibe-coded can expose its own MCP server, which means other AI clients can call it, a small line item with an outsized implication.
Apps that other agents can use
MCP scaffolding closes a loop. Glaze already turns a description into a working desktop app; now that app can turn around and offer its capabilities to Claude, ChatGPT, or any MCP-capable assistant. Build a tool that manages your invoices, and your assistant can operate it. It's the same pattern Lovable shipped for web apps, but for Glaze's local-first desktop apps, and it means a Glaze creation isn't a dead-end artifact, it's a capability you can plug into your agent stack.
Growth mechanics arrive
The release also adds the machinery of a maturing platform. A referral program pays 50 credits for each friend who subscribes to Pro; an affiliate program offers creators recurring payouts for referrals. Both signal that Glaze is investing in distribution, not just features, and give its community a reason to bring others in.
The store grows up
Glaze's community app store got a polish pass that matters for discovery: cover photos on app detail pages, credit rewards for developers whose apps get featured, custom preview images when apps are shared, and smoother carousels. Featured-developer rewards in particular nudge the store toward a real creator economy, make something good, get surfaced, earn credits to make more. Rounding out 0.10 are fixes to the agent-confirmation dock bounce and tooltip placement.
Update
Glaze 0.10.0.0 is rolling out now. If you build on Glaze, the MCP scaffolding is the feature to try first, wire one of your apps up and connect it to your assistant to feel what app-plus-agent unlocks. Full notes are in the changelog.
