Webhook IP ranges added to the Meta API

By Steven Van ·

Three new CIDR ranges appear in the Meta API's hooks field, and static webhook allowlists on any plan need them added to keep receiving deliveries.

GitHub has added three IP ranges for GitHub webhook deliveries on github.com. They now appear in the hooks field of the Meta API, as noted in the announcement.

New ranges

  • 9.234.98.160/28
  • 9.234.98.176/28
  • 9.234.106.48/28

What to do

Anyone who maintains a static network allowlist for incoming webhook deliveries should add these CIDR prefixes alongside the existing webhook IP ranges. Otherwise, deliveries from the new ranges may be rejected. Allowlists that are kept current from the Meta API need no changes.

Availability

The ranges apply to webhook deliveries on github.com across all plans, including GitHub Enterprise Cloud. The current ranges can be retrieved from the Meta API, and GitHub points to its webhook delivery best practices for further guidance.
