Updates to GitHub Copilot for Slack and Microsoft Teams

The public preview adds Slack and Teams context, model switching, and default repositories for Copilot Business and Enterprise plans.
The GitHub Copilot integrations for Slack and Microsoft Teams now carry more context from a conversation into the pull requests and issues Copilot creates, and give users more control over how sessions run.
- In Slack, Copilot can use supported files, attachments, and message links as context. In Teams, it can work with inline images, forwarded-message context, and channel and thread history.
- Copilot checks for similar issues before creating a new one, includes direct links to the resulting work, and keeps a link back to the originating conversation.
- Users can switch models for the next message, and the choice persists through the conversation.
- In Slack, users can now set default owners and repositories for a channel.
The update also brings reliability fixes to both platforms, including better handling of longer-running tasks and more consistent channel-thread history in Teams. It's a public preview, available to organizations on GitHub Copilot Business and GitHub Copilot Enterprise plans, and usage counts against existing Copilot entitlements. See the full announcement.
